Located in the heart of the Darwin region, Royal Existence is a comprehensive dance facility featuring three spacious studio spaces and a comfortable waiting area for families. We offer classes in seven different dance styles for students ranging from toddlers (18 months) to teenagers (18 years).

To ensure each student receives the attention they deserve, we keep our classes small — with a maximum of 15 students per class. This approach allows our instructors to provide individualised feedback, set meaningful goals, and build strong, supportive relationships with every dancer. Whether your goal is to pursue a professional dance career, stay fit, or explore dance for the first time, we have a class designed just for you.

Our dedicated teaching team brings a wealth of experience across multiple dance disciplines. We pride ourselves on creating a nurturing and positive environment where students are encouraged to express themselves, grow in confidence, and most importantly — have fun!

All classes are meticulously conducted as closed sessions, a deliberate approach aimed at fostering an environment where students can uphold an unwavering focus and deep engagement with their instructors throughout the entirety of their dance activities. This structured setting allows instructors to provide personalized attention, tailoring their guidance to the individual needs and progress of each student. By minimizing distractions and external interruptions, students are better equipped to absorb instruction, refine their techniques, and fully immerse themselves in the learning experience.

How can I best prepare my child for their first dance class without me? It sounds like you’re offering some thoughtful and considerate advice for helping a child transition into a new environment, such as daycare or a class. Preparing a child in advance, making the process seem casual and normal, and allowing the child to feel in control of the situation are all great strategies. Here are a few additional tips that might complement your suggestions:

  1. Familiarize her with the environment: Take her on a tour of the studio beforehand, if possible. Introduce her to key areas like the classroom, play areas, and restrooms.
  2. Bring a comfort item: Allow her to bring a familiar toy, blanket, or comfort item from home to provide a sense of security.
  3. Establish a routine: Create a consistent drop-off routine so she knows what to expect each time. Establishing a predictable routine can help ease anxiety.
  4. Positive reinforcement: Praise her for being brave and going to class. Share positive stories about how much fun she’ll have and the friends she’ll make.
  5. Open communication with teachers: Maintain open communication with her teachers to stay informed about her progress and any concerns.
  6. Create a goodbye ritual: Develop a short and sweet goodbye ritual (e.g., a special wave or secret handshake) to make parting a bit more enjoyable.
  7. Be punctual during pick-up: Be on time for pick-up, reinforcing the idea that you will always come back for her.
  8. Stay calm and composed: Children often pick up on their parents’ emotions. Stay calm and composed, projecting a sense of confidence and reassurance.

Remember, every child is unique, so it’s essential to be flexible and adapt these strategies based on her individual needs and preferences. Additionally, maintaining open communication with the teachers and other parents can help create a supportive community for both the child and the family.
